China Railway Construction Corporation Limited announced that the Board received the letter of resignation from Mr. QI Xiaofei, the vice chairman and an executive director of the Company on 25 November 2016. Mr. QI resigned from the positions of the vice chairman and an executive director of the Company due to other work arrangement and ceased to be a member of the Nomination Committee of the Board of the Company. China Railway Construction Corporation and Zambia's transport ministry signed a USD 2.26 billion railway construction contract. The project is 388.8 kilometers long and starts in Chipata and ends in Serenje. Designed speeds of passenger trains and freight trains are 120 and 80 kilometers per hour respectively. China Railway Construction has won 16 projects in Zambia, which include roads and municipal facilities.

China Railway Group and China Communications Construction Company Wins $2.1 Billion Contract for Malaysian Railway Project

A consortium of China Railway Construction Corporation, China Railway Group and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has won a contract worth MYR 8.9 billion ($2.1 billion) for a railway project in southern Malaysia. The scope of the project will include the design, construction, material supply, installation, completion, testing, trial operation and maintenance of Gemas-Johor Bahru electric double-track railway. The project covers a total length of 191.14km and includes nine new passenger stations, two rolling stock depots and three open stations next to the existing line, the newly-built railway stretches from Gemas Station to Johor Bahru Central Station. The full line, with a designed speed of 160kmph, is covered by meter-gauge ballast seamless tracks. CCCC, which holds a 30% interest in the consortium, believes that the project will be of great significance to promoting the economic development of southern Malaysia.
