CITIC Dameng Holdings Limited, an investment holding company, is engaged in manganese mining, ore processing, and downstream processing operations in Mainland China and Gabon. It operates through four segments: Manganese Mining and Ore Processing, Manganese Downstream Processing, Non-Manganese Processing, and Others. The Manganese Mining and Ore Processing segment mines and produces manganese products, such as manganese concentrate, and natural discharging manganese powder and sand. The Manganese Downstream Processing segment is involved in the hydrometallurgical processing and pyrometallurgical processing activities for the production of electrolytic manganese metal (EMM), electrolytic manganese dioxide, manganese sulfate, silicomanganese alloys, manganese tetroxide, and lithium manganese oxide. The Non-Manganese Processing segment produces and sells non-manganese products comprising high carbon ferrochromium and lithium cobalt oxide. The Others segment trades in various commodities, including manganese ore, EMM, and silicomanganese alloys. This segment also sells scraps; and rents investment properties and machinery. The company has interests in the Daxin mine located to the west of Daxin County, Guangxi; the Tiandeng mine located to the north of Tiandeng County, Guangxi; the Waifu manganese mine located in Jingxi, Guangxi; the Changgou manganese mine located in Guizhou; and the Bembe’le' manganese mine located to the north of Ndjole town in the Moyen-Ogooue province of Gabon. CITIC Dameng Holdings Limited was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Wanchai, Hong Kong.

CITIC Dameng Holdings Limited reported consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of HKD 3,194,517,000 against HKD 2,915,756,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was HKD 35,316,000 against HKD 305,450,000 a year ago. Loss for the year was HKD 82,721,000 against HKD 317,689,000 a year ago. Total profit attributable to owners of the parent was HKD 15,488,000 against total loss attributable to owners of the parent of HKD 243,246,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted earnings per share were 0.51 cents against basic and diluted loss per share of 8.04 cents a year ago. The revenue increase was due to the increase in sales volume of EMM following the commencement of production of new lines of Daxinand Guangxi Start EMM processing plants starting from the third quarter of 2014.

Based on the preliminary review of the unaudited consolidated management accounts of the group for the year ended 31 December 2014, The company expects that, as compared with the loss attributable to shareholders of HKD 243,246,000 for the year ended 31 December 2013, the financial performance of the group will record significant improvement and turnaround into a profit attributable to shareholders of the company. Such turnaround was mainly attributable to the following factors in the year ended 31 December 2014: increase of gross profit contribution from company's electrolytic manganese metal business resulting from adoption of effective cost control measures thereby reducing unit cost of production and company's enlarged production capacity; change of company's product mix and product portfolio, including an increase of external sales of manganese carbonate ores mined in the People's Republic of China; write back in the amount of approximately HKD 47 million of provision made in prior year for an entrusted loan as a result of repayment during the year 2014; and receipt of more government subsidies.
