The company also provides corporate lending and loan syndication, asset based lending, commercial lending, and securities lending; wealth management services, including private banking, trust, and portfolio management services, as well as investment solutions; treasury services and securities dealing services; and domestic and international services. In addition, it offers trustee, asset management, corporate secretarial and advisory, property investment, business consultancy, money lending, facility management, Internet banking, securities broking, nominee, business outsourcing, and executive search and human resource solutions services, as well as business, corporate, and investor services. The company operates approximately 220 outlets in Hong Kong and the rest of Greater China, Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The Bank of East Asia, Limited was incorporated in 1918 and is headquartered in Central, Hong Kong.

The Bank of East Asia, Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the six months ended June 30, 2017. For the period, the company reported profit for the Bank of HKD 6,823 million compared to HKD 1,682 million reported last year. Profit attributable to owners of the parent was HKD 6,220 million compared to HKD 2,095 million reported last year. Diluted earnings per share was HKD 2.20 against HKD 0.69 reported last year. Profit from continuing operations attributable to owners of the parent was HKD 3,171 million or HKD 1.08 per diluted share against HKD 1,981 million or HKD 0.65 per diluted share reported last year. The Board of The Bank of East Asia, Limited to declare an interim dividend of HKD 0.68 per share for the six months ended 30 June, 2017 compared to HKD 0.28 per share a year ago. The 2017 interim dividend will be paid in cash with an option to receive new, fully paid shares in lieu of cash, to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of members of the Bank at the close of business on 14 September, 2017. The ex-dividend date for the 2017 interim dividend will be on 1 1 September, 2017. The dividend warrants and the share certificates for the scrip dividend will be sent to shareholders by ordinary mail on or about 10 October, 2017.
