Sony Corp Announces A1E Series, new OLED TV product

Sony Corp. introduced its new products at a press conference that took place prior to the opening of CES 2017. Among them, the main feature is "A1E Series," a new OLED TV product. For the TV, Sony employed the "Acoustic Surface" technology, which enables to emit sound directly from a TV screen by vibrating the screen. Specifically, high-pitched sounds are mainly output from the screen, and low-pitched sounds are output from the speaker embedded in the part that supports the display from behind. To vibrate the screen, there is a horizontally-long module on the back side of the display. And an "actuator module" is mounted near each end of the module to generate vibration.
