Allied Telesis Showcases its EtherGRID™ Application Hybrid Cloud Delivery Platform

Allied Telesis announced that it will showcase its EtherGRID™ application hybrid cloud delivery platform at the Light Reading Big Telecom Event in Chicago, June 9-10. EtherGRID, a next-generation hybrid cloud platform, is designed for Enterprises and Communication Service Providers (CSPs) that want to leverage cloud technology principles across their own infrastructures versus as a pure public cloud play. End-consumer demand for more bandwidth, driven by OTT services, is driving CSPs to rethink how they can re-build their Central Offices and provide a cloud offering. The ability to offer new revenue applications securely, across a CSP network, is paramount in order to protect and leverage their existing fiber assets. As IT Enterprises strive to streamline internal operations, the ability to offer cloud-centric solutions becomes necessary to achieve operational savings as well as network scale.

Allied Telesis Introduces EtherWAVE™— Gigabit Lambda to the Home

Allied Telesis announced that it will demonstrate its EtherWAVE™ Virtual Active Gigabit FTTx last-mile fiber solution at the Light Reading Big Telecom Event in Chicago, June 9-10, 2015, Booth 461. EtherWAVE is a next-generation FTTx solution that replaces legacy Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks (GPONs) with “True Gigabit Speed” service to the end user, using xWDM technology and tunable lasers. End consumers are frustrated with the limited bandwidth offered on legacy Passive Optical Networks (PONs). Many Communication Service Providers (CSPs) have a “shared” last-mile fiber technology based on PON, forcing users to accept limited upstream speeds and controlled downstream speeds. The challenge has been to deliver dedicated Gigabit speeds to end users across a “shared” fiber network.
