It operates an integrated exchange that offers a range of exchange-related services, including trading, clearing, settlement, and depository services. The company’s products and services include equities, derivatives, Islamic offerings, offshore services, bonds, indices, information products, investment knowledge hub, central depository system accounts, consolidated central depository system statement of accounts, and securities borrowing and lending. It also operates and maintains securities, derivatives, and offshore financial exchanges; a Shari’ah compliant commodity trading platform; a central depository for securities listed on the securities exchange; a clearing house for the securities and derivatives exchange; and an electronic trading platform for the bond market. In addition, the company compiles, provides, and disseminates prices and other information relating to securities quoted on the securities and derivatives exchanges, as well as data reported from the bond platform. Further, it acts as a nominee for Bursa Malaysia Depository and receives securities on deposit or for safe-custody or management. The company was formerly known as Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Berhad and changed its name to Bursa Malaysia Berhad in April 2004. Bursa Malaysia Berhad was founded in 1973 and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Bursa Malaysia Bhd announced audited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company's operating revenue was MYR 119.7 million compared with MYR 103.9 million a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 69.4 million compared with MYR 48.3 million a year ago. Profit for the period was MYR 54.6 million compared with MYR 34.9 million a year ago. Profit attributable to owners of the company was MYR 53.1 million or 9.9 sen per diluted share compared with MYR 33.8 million or 6.3 sen per diluted share a year ago. For the year, the company's operating revenue was MYR 471.3 million compared with MYR 439.8 million a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 271.8 million compared with MYR 245.6 million a year ago. Profit for the period was MYR 204.0 million compared with MYR 179.4 million a year ago. The Board of Directors of Bursa Malaysia Berhad proposes a final dividend of 18 sen per share under the single-tier system in respect of the financial year ended 31 December 2014. The final dividend is subject to shareholders' approval at the forthcoming 38th Annual General Meeting.

Bursa Malaysia Announces Executive Changes

Bursa Malaysia has appointed Tan Sri Amirsham Abdul Aziz public interest director and non-executive chairman effective March 1, 2015. Amirsham succeeds Tun Mohamed Dzaiddin Abdullah, whose term of appointment will expire on February 28, 2015. Amirsham is presently chairman of Malaysian Investment Development Authority as well as the Financial Services Talent Council. He currently holds directorships in various leading organisations, among them, Petroliam Nasional Bhd, RAM Holdings Bhd, Samling Global Ltd, Bermuda, and CapitaLand Ltd, Singapore.
