Transcend Robotics has announced a cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Transcend Robotics and ORNL will work together to develop and demonstrate the impact that additive manufacturing can have on both direct part substitution and tooling for mobile robotics systems. This project will enable Transcend Robotics to benefit from the expertise and experience of the ORNL team to leverage additive manufacturing (3D printing) to improve performance and reduce the cost per platform, effectively lowering the barrier of entry for adopting advanced mobile robotic technology.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Cincinnati Incorporated have signed a nonexclusive licensing agreement on ORNL patents related to large-scale additive manufacturing. Both the entities are based in the US. Under the agreement, Cincinnati may make, use or sell the ORNL's patented developments of enhanced additive manufacturing with a reciprocating platen that enables the manufacture of parts much larger and with higher quality than current standards.
SCIEX Inks Licensing Deal with Oak Ridge National Laboratory

A licensing deal has been inked by SCIEX and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for technologies around analytical chemistry equipment. The deal would assist SCIEX extend mass spectrometry adoption to applications outside the laboratory, like process control; materials science, food and water safety; and non-invasive, point-of-care disease diagnosis.
