Smith & Associates Appoints Cleat Kimbrough as Vice President of Operations and Quality, Asia & EU

Smith & Associates announced the appointment of Cleat Kimbrough to the role of Vice President of Operations and Quality, Asia & EU. In this position, Cleat will oversee the management of Smith's logistics and anti-counterfeiting efforts in the crucial Asian and European markets. Cleat joined Smith in January of 2000 in its Houston headquarters’ operations department. He was transferred to Smith’s Hong Kong hub in June 2000 to develop and manage operations in the company’s Asia-Pacific region, and was promoted to the post of Acting Executive Director for Hong Kong in January 2008. As Vice President of Operations and Quality, Asia & EU, Cleat will engineer strategies to support the continuous growth of Smith’s anti-counterfeiting program, including supervision of testing facilities’ equipment and their compliance to the standards of Smith’s many certifications and accreditations. He will also provide key local support of Smith’s strategic sourcing, global distribution logistics, and other supply chain strategies.

Smith & Associates announced two new executive appointments. Kirk Wehby is joining the senior executive team as Chief Operating Officer to manage global operations, quality, logistics, security, and facilities. Matthew Hartzell is taking on responsibility for the company’s legal, accounting, human resources, and IT operations in the new role of Chief Administrative Officer. Kirk previously served as Vice President of Global Operations for Smith, from 2008-2012, and is currently CEO of the solar technology company ONTILITY, a role in which he will continue in addition to his new duties at Smith. In addition, Kirk plans to leverage the expansive skills of his quality staff by offering them new training and development opportunities to educate them on the latest industry topics and issues so that they can keep increasing the extensive support they offer Smith’s customers. Matt Hartzell steps into the new role of Chief Administrative Officer, leveraging his years overseeing the company’s operational and administrative functions worldwide. Matt joined Smith & Associates as General Counsel in 1998 and served as Chief Operating Officer from 2008 to 2014, overseeing the company’s operational and administrative functions worldwide.
