Hulu Inks A+E Live Streaming Deal

Hulu has clinched an affiliate agreement with A+E Networks that will bring six original brands from the A+E Networks Family to the platform. Under the deal, live and on-demand streaming access to popular cable networks A&E, History, Lifetime, LMN, FYITM and Viceland are added to Hulus core package of over 40 live channels, set to launch this spring.

Adrian Pilkington has been named as SVP Commercial Strategy & General Manager, Nordic, Benelux, Middle East and Africa. Izabella Wiley, currently GM of A+E Networks Poland, takes on a wider remit with a promotion to the position of GM Poland & Central and Eastern Europe. While the current VP of Finance Mark Neil is promoted to VP Finance, Legal and Operations. All three will report to Dean Possenniskie. They join the existing members of the A+E Networks UK Leadership Team: Heather Jones, SVP Content & Creative and GM UK; and Karl Burnett, VP Human Resources. Adrian Pilkington will be responsible for the company's commercial strategy, including Channel Distribution, Digital Distribution and Ad Sales. He will also serve as General Manager for the Nordics, the Benelux, Middle East and Africa, overseeing the company's offices and local teams in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Johannesburg. Izabella Wiley joined as GM Poland in 2013 and has successfully built A+E's Warsaw office and portfolio of channels in Poland. She will now extend her remit across A+E's central and eastern European territories. Mark Neil will now be responsible for Operations and Legal along with leading the Finance Team. This promotion comes just three months after joining the broadcaster from Scripps, where he had a similar remit as CFO.
A+E Networks Announces Board Appointments

A+E Networks appointed Edward Sabin and Patrick Vien to serve as executive managing directors. Sabin, who joined in the company in 2015 as the managing director for the Americas and head of commercial operations, has been elevated. He manages key relationships, partnerships, channels and digital media activities in Latin America and Canada, leads the company's global strategic and operational teams, and heads up format programming and production. Sabin would now oversee of Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He is based in Los Angeles. To be based in New York City starting January, Vien joins A+E Networks from Pulse Films as the executive managing director for international where he would oversee all of A+E's businesses throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Vien will also lead acquisitions, programming strategy, and production for the company's channels outside the U.S. and collaborate on international marketing initiatives. Vien will also oversee all aspects relating to the company's international content sales across 220 territories.
