Vodafone Australia Announces More 4G Coverage in Queensland

Vodafone Australia has switched on a new mobile site at Kumbia near Kingaroy. Another site at nearby Boyneside is set to follow in coming months. Both of these sites have been completed as part of the Federal Government's Mobile Black Spot Program. These new 4G sites will see voice and data coverage provided to an additional 220 square kilometres, including 50 kilometres along roads in the area including the Bunya Highway, Kearneys Road and Kumbia-Brooklands Road. Vodafone's new sites in Kumbia and Boyneside are the latest step in Vodafone's continued push to give people more mobile services choice across Australia. Vodafone is committed to investing in regional areas where it makes sense to do so. It is also campaigning for regulatory reforms that would deliver Australia's best opportunity to drive mobile investment in regional areas.

Vodafone Australia Pty. Ltd. Announces Availability of 4G Services in Cooyar, Queensland

Vodafone Australia Pty. Ltd. announced the availability of 4G services in Cooyar, Queensland. Cooyar is Vodafone's first Queensland site to be switched on as part of the Federal Government's Mobile Black Spot Program. About 744 square kilometres of additional voice and data coverage will be provided, including more than 260 households, as well as along the New England Highway and Oakey-Cooyar Road to the new 4G site. Vodafone Chief Technology Officer Kevin Millroy the company's new site in Cooyar is part of the company's continued network investment to support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and services in Queensland. Vodafone is pleased to be switching its first Queensland site in Cooyar. This wouldn't have been possible without the joint effort of government and business under the Federal Government's Mobile Black Spot Program, which remains dedicated to improving network services for regional Australians Australia, Mr. Millroy. Vodafone is committed to expanding its network to help fuel economic growth and jobs, and enable customers to quickly access the applications, services and content that matters most to them. More than ever before, customers look to mobile communications to stay in touch with family, friends and colleagues. Customers in Cooyar will now benefit from enhanced network coverage and performance. By the end of 2017, Vodafone will deliver another three new sites to extend its mobile network within the Maranoa electorate, including one in Kumbia and another in Drillham that is being funded by the company and currently under construction. Once completed, the Drillham and Kumbia sites will deliver a total of over 280 square kilometres of additional coverage in the region, including along Bunya Highway, Kearneys Road, Kumbia-Brooklands Road, and Warrego Highway. Federal Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said residents of Cooyar - and soon in Kumbia and Drillham - will be able to take advantage of 4G services to Vodafone's investment in the region. The building and strengthening of network connections through the Federal Government's Mobile Phone Black Spot Program is crucial to Maranoa's future prosperity.

Vodafone Australia has announced that its director of sales, Ben McIntosh, has been appointed to the newly created position of Consumer Business Unit (CBU) Director. The company thus removes its CMO position and will merge its marketing and sales into one team following the departure of CMO Loo Fun Chee.
