Yokogawa Corporation of America Announces WT300E Compact Power Meter

Yokogawa Corporation of America announced its compact power meters, the WT300E series. They are enhanced versions of Yokogawa's fifth generation of compact power meters. They have been the instrument of choice for a wide range of applications in production testing, quality assurance, and research and development. This new family consists of the models WT310E single-phase, WT310EH single-phase high current, WT332E two-element and WT333E three-element versions. These new units offer enhanced measurement accuracy of 0.1% of reading +0.05% of range. The WT310E provides extremely low current measurement capability to 50 micro-Amps, and up to 26 Amps RMS. For the engineer doing Stand-by-Power measurements, Energy Star ®, SPECpower and IEC62301 /EN50564 testing, battery charger and other low-level power measurements, the WT310E is the ideal solution. Many of the power conversion circuits use energy saving switching techniques. These can cause highly distorted voltage or current waveforms with high harmonic content. To measure these waveforms accurately, the WT300E series power meters use high-resolution sixteen-bit analog to digital converters with a digitizing rate of 100 kS/s. They have a new enhanced low frequency measurement capability of 0.1 Hz. Overall bandwidth is DC and 0.1 Hz to 100 kHz. The WT310EH is a single-phase high current version with current ranges from 1 Amp to 40 Amps RMS. The bandwidth on this model is DC and 0.1 Hz to 20 kHz. The WT332E is a two-element meter for use on split phase and three-phase, three-wire circuits or three-phase, four-wire circuits. These models have current ranges of 0.5 Amps to 20 Amps RMS, with low-current measurements to 5 mA. All models have voltage ranges from 15 to 600 Volts RMS, and low voltage measurement capability to 150 mV. An optional harmonic analysis function is available for the WT300E series digital power meters. This will benefit the design and test engineer in product performance evaluation and for power quality conformance testing. Both the normal power parameters and harmonic data are measured simultaneously providing for faster and more accurate power analysis. Harmonic analysis and THD calculations can be made up to the 50 the order from a 50 or 60 Hertz fundamental frequency. The integration function measures Amp-Hour and Watt-Hour parameters. This is especially important for stand-by power measurements. In the stand-by mode, the current can be very low. Then when the device goes to operation mode, the current can increase substantially. The new auto range feature will optimize the range setting for maximum accuracy measurements. All the industry standard communication interface ports such as USB, GPIB, RS232 and Ethernet are available for the WT300E series. The standard interface is USB plus GPIB or RS232. Ethernet is an available option. Measured digital data from the WT300E series can be acquired by Yokogawa recorders via Ethernet or Modbus/TCP directly. Yokogawa's WTViewerFreePlus software is provided with each WT300E unit. This permits displaying and saving the measurement data, numeric values, waveform display and trend graphs. Yokogawa Corporation of America Releases the CA300 Series Process Calibrators

Yokogawa Corporation of America announced that it will release three models of the CA300 series single function calibrators on December 2, 2015. The CA300 series is a high accuracy source and measure portable handheld calibrator used to inspect and maintain the accuracy of control devices such as temperature controllers, temperature transmitters, temperature sensors and other process devices which are used in process plants, industry machinery, and manufacturing. Available in three models, the CA310, CA320, and CA330 provide an ergonomic and friendly user interface. The CA300 series offers three source and measurement models: The CA300 series includes the continued models of voltage calibrator CA11E, and temperature calibrator CA12E. While maintaining a low cost, the CA300 series achieves the highest source/measurement accuracy compared to other instruments in the same class concerning functionality and performance. With this release, Yokogawa aims to expand sales through the calibration business. Development Background: It is periodically required to calibrate and inspect control devices to maintain their accuracy. As there are higher concerns on stable and safe operation for plants, the importance of maintenance and inspection is more of a focus. Thus, process calibrators are required to be capable to perform much more efficient operations in the field with higher quality. Moreover, as the control devices themselves are getting more precise, it is required for the process calibrator to be more precise and with higher performance. Corresponding with those needs, Yokogawa releases the CA300 series single function process calibrator with the highest accuracy of source and measure in its class, which supersedes the voltage/current calibrator CA11E and temperature controller CA12E. CA320 Key Features: Basic accuracy: 0.5°C (Typical of TC type K) including accuracy of internal RJC; Corresponds to 16 types of TC standard; Corresponds to other TC types by mV source function; Measures TC sensor output as a thermometer. CA330 Key Features: Basic accuracy: 0.3°C (Typical of PT100); Corresponds to 14 types of RTD standard; Corresponds to 2, 3, 4 wire; realizes RTD simulation; and Measures output of RTD sensor as a thermometer.
Yokogawa Corporation of America Receives Order from Orascom E&C USA to Deliver Control and Safety Systems for the Natgasoline LLC Methanol Plant

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Yokogawa Corporation of America, has received an order from Orascom E&C USA to deliver control and safety systems for the Natgasoline LLC methanol plant. Currently under construction in Beaumont, Texas, this facility will have a capacity of approximately 1.75 million metric tons per year when it starts production in 2017. For the process control and safety of the Lurgi MegaMethanolR process technology and auxiliary facilities throughout this plant, Yokogawa will deliver the CENTUM® VP integrated production control system, ProSafe®-RS safety instrumented system, Exaquantum(TM) plant information management system, and Plant Resource Manager (PRM®) software package. Yokogawa Corporation of America will be responsible for the engineering and delivery of these systems, and will provide support with installation and commissioning. The delivery of all systems will be completed by August 2016.
