RAD and Check Point Unveil Joint End-to-End Cyber Security Solution for Utility Operational Networks
May 4 16
RAD and Check Point Software Technologies have announced they joined forces to offer an end-to-end cyber security solution that protects utility operational technology (OT) networks by eliminating RTU and SCADA equipment vulnerabilities, as well as defend against cyber-attacks on the network’s control and data planes. The solution, part of RAD Service Assured Networking (SAN) portfolio, integrates Check Point’s ICS Security Gateway with RAD’s secure-by-design networking platforms. It securely manage all electronic access to the substation’s electronic security perimeter (ESP) and protects the cyber assets within it from external and internal attacks, including ‘man-in-the-middle’ attempts, session hijacking, source-spoofing and distributed denial of service (DDoS) assaults. The joint solution fits any network, either one that is built using RAD’s networking platforms, or as an overlay add-on for existing networks. Power utilities are provided a full suite of multi-tiered cyber security defenses, including encryption, authentication, intrusion prevention, anomaly detection and integrity verification, among other tools. The solution enables power utilities to comply with new requirements issued by the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
RAD Enhances Demarc Portfolio with VDSL2 and GPON
Aug 27 15
RAD has announced the availability of two new modules for its MEF CE 2.0-certified ETX-2 and ETX-2i routers and Carrier Ethernet demarcation devices. A VDSL2 module enables the transmission of up to 400 Mbps of traffic over bonded copper links while providing the same service level (SLA) guarantees that otherwise would be available over fiber optic infrastructure. A GPON module enables the transmission of up to 1Gbps of traffic over passive optical Ethernet. The introduction of VDSL2 and GPON into RAD’s CE 2.0-certified Layer 2/Layer 3 demarcation devices expands the scope of its SAA solutions, which help business service providers, wholesale carriers and mobile operators increase their revenues and lower TCO throughout the service lifecycle. Based on a rich set of tools, SAA facilitates the planning, deployment, provisioning, and maintenance of existing and new services, allowing operators to offer a resilient, always-on service with predictable QoS and better QoE.
