R. Stahl, Inc. Introduces WirelessHART Gateway Series

R. Stahl, Inc. introduced an explosion-protection WirelessHART gateway series, which provides useful solutions for over-the-air communication in the process industry. The new product complements the existing line-up to give users a complete package of interface options for signal transmission via 4.20 mA with line-based HART or FF H1 field bus. Wireless communication is an easy way to lay the groundwork for sophisticated automation concepts that are deployed to upgrade an extensive base of existing field devices e.g. in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or oil and gas industry. Advanced Industrial Internet implementations all but depend on such solutions. A series 7145 gateway connects up to 100 wireless field devices via Ethernet with the DCS or asset management system. The gateway is easy to install and can be comfortably parameterized via web server. A robust stainless steel enclosure provides mechanical resistance and protection according to IP65. ATEX and IECEx certified for use in zones 2 and 22, the devices withstand temperatures in a range between -20°C and +60°C. Thanks to the flexible housing concept, the gateway can be combined with other components and optionally equipped with an intrinsically safe antenna interface (Ex ia) as well an Ethernet interface with Ex op type of protection.

R. Stahl, Inc. unveils 6036 Series of Tubular Light Fitting

R. Stahl, Inc. has unveiled 6036 series of tubular light fitting. Conventional linear luminaires are ill-equipped to withstand extreme temperatures and harsh environments, much less for long periods of time - LED tube lights from R. STAHL's 6036 series, however, are quite a different caliber. They tolerate temperatures as low as -55°C and are therefore suitable for applications such as LPG exploration in the Arctic region. On the other end of the spectrum, they withstand heat up to +60°C, and also tolerate extreme temperature fluctuations. The LED tube lights are available with an IP66, IP67, or IP68 ingress protection rating, suitable also for maritime applications. They are vibration-proof and impact-resistant up to IK 10. Available in 0.75 m, 1.1 m, and 1.4 m versions, these durable units feature a nominal lifespan of 80,000 hours. While their design is very rugged, the LED tube lights are absolute lightweights - their maximum weight of 2.45 kg amounts to less than half that of comparable linear luminaires. The low-maintenance products are suitable for general lighting purposes or for use as machine lamps. Due to their slim design, they are easy to install even in hard-to-access locations. In addition, the 6036 series is extraordinarily light-efficient: the overall power consumption is only about half that of conventional box-type units and the specific power consumption per 100 lx is merely 1.5 W/m2. Operating expenses are therefore greatly reduced - realistic cost savings range from some 20% to more than 50%, depending on the relevant time frame and specific solutions that are compared. In addition to ATEX and IECEx certificates for zones 1/21 and 2/22, the lights feature various regional approvals for many major markets (EAC TR CU, Gazpromnadzor, UL do Brasil, GL). The versatility of the series is further enhanced by the choice of connection cables: while H07RN-F is the default, users can also choose Thermflex, low-temperature, special offshore cables, or cables that are high-voltage-proof up to 1 kV.
