Dobeles Dzirnavnieks to Keep Investing in Development of Grain Reception, Storage Facilities

Dobeles Dzirnavnieks will this year continue investments in development of its grain reception and storage facilities. This year the company will be receiving grain from customers also in its home town, Dobele in central Latvia, because it had completed a major investment project for building grain storage towers there. Altogether EUR 6.5 million were invested in the project that has increased the company's grain storage capacity by one third to 160,000 tons. This year Dobeles Dzirnavnieks plans to continue developing its storage facilities.

Dobeles Dzirnavnieks to Construct a System of Grain Elevators

Dobeles Dzirnavnieks announced that total investments this year would reach about €7 million, of which more than €5 million have been invested in development of a plant for production of cereal flakes and muesli. Investments by the end of 2017 would total €17 million, including the amount invested this year. The next major project by Dobeles Dzirnavnieks will be construction of a system of grain elevators that would cost around €5.5 million. The new facility is to be completed before the grain harvest in 2016 with financing from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). The project will increase the company's s grain reception and storage capacity by at least 50,000 tons. Upon completion of the project, the total grain reception and storage capacity will reach 150,000 tons.
