EDF Renewable Energy Announces the Acquisition of 179 MW of Solar Projects in Nevada's Clark County from First Solar Inc

EDF Renewable Energy announced the acquisition of 179 MW of solar projects in Nevada's Clark County from First Solar Inc. for an undisclosed amount. They will be equipped with First Solar photovoltaic modules and horizontal single-axis tracking systems. Commercial activities for the two facilities are slated to begin at the end of July and September, respectively. Once up and running, the solar parks will be able to generate enough power to meet the electricity consumption of about 46,000 local households and offset over 265,000 tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year. Their output and environmental attributes will be sold to US utility NV Energy under three power purchase agreements.
