Kazakh Government Announces Scheme To Privatize Units

A new “privatization” scheme has been announced by the Kazakh government earlier 2017. Enterprises to be “privatized” or in the State Fund’s words “transferred to a competitive environment” include the JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, Kazgeology, The Khorgos International Centre of Boundary Cooperation JSC, the Astana International Airport JSC and Airport Korkyt-Ata Kyzylorda JSC, Joint Stock Company National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, JSC National Company KazMunayGas, JSC National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, Samruk-Energy Joint Stock Company, National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Kazpost JSC, Air Astana Joint Stock Company, Kazakhtelecom JSC (KAS:KZTK), Qazaq Air JSC, JSC Pavlodar Airport, JSC Aktobe International Airport and JSC International Airport Atyrau, JSC NC Aktau International Sea Trading Port, Astana Solar LLP, LLP Kazakhstan Solar Silicon, Caustic JSC, Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, National Company Food Contract Corporation JSC, and others. Seven entities will be put on the market through IPO. These include Joint Stock Company National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, joint Stock Company National Company KazMunayGas, Joint-Stock Company "National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom", Samruk-Energy Joint Stock Company, Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Joint stock Company Kazakhtelecom (KAS:KZTK) and Kazpost JSC. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, in its turn, will sell JSC «Kaztemirtrans», JSC Passenger transport, 'Tulpar-Talgo LLP, JSC Electric Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty and Electriclokomotive Kurastyru Zauyty.
