HomeStreet to Acquire Branch in San Diego County

HomeStreet Bank announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire a branch located in El Cajon, California from Opus Bank of Irvine, California, including approximately USD 28 million in deposits held at that branch. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions including receipt of regulatory approval. This acquisition would increase the number of HomeStreet's retail deposit branches to four in San Diego County and 16 in Southern California. The El Cajon Branch will continue to operate as usual under the Opus Bank brand until the transaction is completed. Upon closing, the branch will become part of HomeStreet Bank.

HomeStreet Bank Opens New Retail Branch in Baldwin

HomeStreet Bank opened a new retail branch in Baldwin Park, Calif., located at 3119 Baldwin Park Blvd., Suite A. The branch will be led by Branch Manager, Liz Reynoso. Liz is a Los Angeles native, and brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry to the team. This new branch is located at the corner of Baldwin Park Blvd and Tracy Street, close to the Baldwin Park Kaiser Permanente Hospital. The branch offers a variety of competitive deposit and lending solutions for businesses and individuals, which include business and consumer loans, lines of credit, commercial real estate financing, credit cards, merchant services, remote deposit capture, mobile and online banking, bill payment, and cash management.

HomeStreet Bank has hired Edward C. Schultz as its president for the state of California and executive vice president in Commercial Banking. Schultz will be based in the San Francisco office where he will oversee all Commercial Banking strategy and activities for the state. Schultz comes to HomeStreet with over 30 years of banking experience where he has excelled in building commercial banking relationships and brand presence in new markets. Schultz is very active in the local community and has served on the boards of the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation.
