Valoriza Agua has been awarded a construction contract from Oman Power & Water Procurement Company for a 250,000 cum per day reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant in Sohar region of Oman. The deal is worth $1.2 billion. The consortium includes Valoriza Water (51%), Oman Brunei Investment Company (25%) and Sogex Oman (24%). It comprises the acquisition of the plants drinking water output under a 20-year water purchase agreement. The project, situated on the Batinah coast, would start operation in 2018.
