Badcock Home Furniture & More announced two recent leadership promotions. Chris Thompson has been named as the new vice president of inventory management and Rick Meyer has been selected as the new vice president of supply chain logistics. Both Thompson and Meyer bring a multitude of experience to their new positions and have made significant contributions to the company during their tenures. Thompson began her career with W.S. Badcock Corporation in 1978 as a clerk in the Accounts Payable department. Over the next 28 years, she earned additional responsibilities and promotions to roles across departments, advancing to Director of the Retail Inventory department. She received her bachelor’s degree from Warner Southern College and master’s degree in business from Saint Leo University. Now the Vice President of Supply Chain Logistics, Meyer began his career with W.S. Badcock Corporation in 2008 as the director of purchasing.

W.S. Badcock Corporation Announces Executive Changes

The W. S. Badcock Corporation Board of Directors has announced this week that Robert B. Burnette, recently named Chief Operating Officer, will become President of the 320-store chain beginning January 1, 2017. Burnette, immediately joins the Board of Directors, will succeed current president Mike Price. Price will remain on the Company’s Board of Directors after his retirement at the end of 2016. Burnette has been with the company for 31 years and was named Senior Vice President of Corporate Administration in 2002.

W. S. Badcock Corporation Opens New Regional Distribution Center in LaGrange, GA

W. S. Badcock Corporation announced the opening of their 535,000 square foot regional distribution center in the Callaway South Industrial Park in LaGrange, GA, this month. This $24 million distribution center is the biggest facility in the furniture chain and will immediately serve 150 retail stores, with the potential to grow up to 200 locations across seven of the eight states where Badcock operates. The new LaGrange facility replaces the Cullman and Thomson distribution centers and will be home to 150 employees. The project is a result of collaboration between Badcock and the Development Authority of LaGrange, the City of LaGrange and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
