National Geographic in Asia has announced a three-year partnership with China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC) that will bring viewers a brand new block of programing showcasing the hidden natural beauty and culture of China. National Geographic's collaboration with the CICC on China Revealed represents a new era of the partnership between the two parties, leading on from 10 years of working on co-productions together. In the past decade, National Geographic and the CICC have collaborated to create over 30 hours of documentaries about China, combining National Geographic's storytelling know-how with CICC's unique access in China.

Dennis Camlek has been appointed executive VP, strategy and consumer marketing at National Geographic Channel. Based in Washington DC and reporting to the soon-to-be-announced CMO of National Geographic Partners, he will be responsible for the US and also work closely with the marketing heads of Europe, Asia and Latin America to ensure consistency globally across National Geographic networks. Prior to joining National Geographic Channel, Camlek was senior VP of Turner Media Group, Turner Broadcasting System, and VP, strategic media planning for Turner Media Group. Earlier, he held senior positions at PHD and Horizon Media.
National Geographic Lays Off About 9% of its Staff

National Geographic announced it would lay off about 9% of its staff, months after announcing it would partner with Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox as part of an expanded joint venture. That would amount to about 180 people out of the total 2,000 employees under the new partnership with Fox.
