Yewno have appointed Franny Lee as Chief Operating Officer, Education to lead the company’s education vertical and drive growth of its research application and education market web products. Lee currently serves as a board director at MIT Press where she contributes to shaping strategy and growth for the business’ future. Most recently, she was a general manager and VP at ProQuest LLC leading the learning technologies team in developing and executing business growth plans and go-to-market strategies.

Yewno announced that distinguished UC Santa Barbara Professor, Dr. Michael Gazzaniga, and Co-Director of Stanford’s Digital Humanities Minor Dr. Sarah Ogilvie, have joined the company’s advisory board. Dr. Sarah Ogilvie is Lecturer in Linguistics and Social Sciences Research Fellow as well as a co-director to the Digital Humanities Minor at Stanford. She brings to Yewno an elevated level of insight on the intersection of linguistics and technology leveraging her background in the fields of Pure Mathematics and Computer Science. Dr. Ogilvie is also the lead investigator of two Digital Humanities projects: Nineteenth-Century Crowdsourcing and Mapping Endangered Languages. Dr. Michael Gazzaniga is Director of the SAGE Center for the Study of the Mind at UCSB, president of the Cognitive Neuroscience Institute, and the founding director of the MacArthur Foundation'sLaw and Neuroscience Project and the Summer Institute in Cognitive Neuroscience. His vast experience in the field of neurological brain function will bring additional insight to Yewno’s new approach to knowledge discovery. Prior to Stanford, Dr. Ogilvie worked in the software industry, where among other things she worked on solutions for the Amazon Kindle. Dr. Ogilvie also holds board positions with the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, de Young Museum, and Legion of Honor. Dr. Gazzaniga is also a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Gazzaniga graduated from Dartmouth College and went on to receive a Ph.D. in Psychobiology from the California Institute of Technology, where he worked under the guidance of Roger Sperry, with primary responsibility for initiating human split-brain research. Dr. Gazzaniga’s teaching and mentoring career includes beginning and developing Centers for Cognitive Neuroscience at Cornell University Medical Center and University of California-Davis and Dartmouth College.
Yewno Appoints Sumit Malhotra to CTO Position

Yewno announced that software industry leader Sumit Malhotra has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Malhotra, most recently with Oracle Corporation, will play a pivotal role in shaping Yewno's technology strategy, including leading its engineering team and driving continued innovation of Yewno's solutions. The Yewno for Education inference engine was launched in June of this year as the first in a suite of vertical-market focused solutions. Prior to joining Yewno, Malhotra was the Senior Director of Software Development at Oracle where he managed software development for the data cloud group.
