F&N Dairy And F&N Beverages To Acquire Minority Stake In Vietnam Dairy Products

F&N Dairy Investments Pte Ltd and F&N Beverages Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. are in talks to each acquire a 2.7% stake representing 39.2 million shares in Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (HOSE:VNM) from the Vietnamese Government for SGD 700 million. The results are expected to be out on Dec 21, 2016.

Vinamilk VND 800 Million Share Sale Set For December

State Capital Investment Corporation (Vietnam) said on November 21, 2016, it would sell a further 9% of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (HOSE:VNM) (Vinamilk), worth around VND 800 million at current market prices, on December 2, adding that did not have a specific buyer in mind and that the shares would go to the highest bidders. "We will not pick a strategic investor for this divestment of State Capital Investment Corporation and we will publicly announce and create a fair chance for all interested investors," Nguyen Duc Chi, Chairman of State Capital Investment Corporation, told investors at a roadshow in Ho Chi Minh city. State Capital Investment Corporation will announce a minimum bidding price in week ending on November 25, 2016. According to Vietnamese media reports, F&N Dairy Investments Pte Ltd has been keen to increase its holding. But Nguyen Duc Chi said that the State Capital Investment Corporation had not received any proposal from F&N Dairy Investments to buy more of the firm. Nguyen Duc Chi added that State Capital Investment Corporation had not yet decided when it would sell its remaining shares in Vinamilk. Morgan Stanley Asia Securities Products LLC, Saigon Securities Incorporation (HOSE:SSI) and Vinacapital Corporate Finance Vietnam Co., Ltd. are the advisers for the 9% stake sale.

SCIC May Reportedly Sell Stake In Vinamilk

Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (HOSE:VNM) removed its 49% limit for foreign ownership after a shareholders' meeting on May 21, amid plans to divest its huge government stake. The scrapping was backed by State Capital Investment Corporation (Vietnam) which is holding a 45% stake and F&N Dairy Investments Pte Ltd with an 11% stake. State Capital Investment Corporation has not given a timeframe for the sale of the government stake.
