Quiznos Announces Executive Changes
Jan 12 15
Quiznos' latest step in its restructuring involves a new leader for the troubled sub-sandwich chain. The Denver-based company announced that it has tapped former head of the Krystal Burger chain Doug Pendergast to replace its CEO of the past 2-1/2 years. Pendergast will be asked to help lead its turnaround just six months after the chain exited bankruptcy protection. Pendergast most recently served as president and CEO of The Krystal Company, overseeing an increase in locations and in unit-level profitability. He replaces Stuart Mathis, who had served as Quiznos president and CEO since July 2012, leading the company both into and out of bankruptcy protection and overseeing the continued decline in national locations, from roughly 5,000 before 2008 to about 1,100 by the end of 2014.
