Celeno Communications, Ltd. Key Developments

Marvell Partners with Celeno Communications to Provide Wireless Video Solution

Celeno Communications and Marvell announced a partnership that will see Marvell’s ARMADA 1500 family of multi-media processors and connectivity solution combined with Celeno’s 802.11ac Access Point chips to power a wireless video experience in the home that can reliably handle 4K or HD video streaming alongside regular data applications. This combined solution is designed to meet the growing demand for linear TV, Video-on-Demand and OTT services to multiple screens and mobile devices throughout the home, all while ensuring the high levels of reliability and performance. The Celeno CL2348 802.11ac Wave 2 chip and the CL2330 802.11ac chip provide a powerful access point technology in the home gateway. Utilizing Celeno’s concurrent dual band Wi-Fi module, the Gateway will be able to stream high-quality video using both the 2.4GHz and uncongested 5GHz bands. Marvell’s ARMADA 1500 family of multi-media processors will power set top boxes, TVs and 4K platforms, leveraging the company’s Qdeo™ video processing, TV tuner, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity chip to ensure a robust video connection. Celeno’s chips also include Celeno’s airtime management technology OptimizAIR 2.0, which will enable the separation of multiple concurrent video and data streams as well as ensure the higher capacity and superlative QoS required for 4K as compared to HD streaming. With OptimizAIR 2.0, Service Providers can virtualize their Wi-Fi Access Point into multiple portioned networks. For example, STBs powered by the ARMADA 1500 will be put on one virtual Wi-Fi network with guaranteed capacity for multiple 4K HD streams, while other consumer devices will be allocated to a separate network ensuring user experience is satisfied across all devices.

Quanta Computer, Celeno Communications and Imagination Technologies Partner to Provide the First WebRTC-Enabled Total VP8+H.264 IP Camera Solution

Quanta Computer, Celeno Communications and Imagination Technologies have partnered to create an end-to-end WebRTC-enabled IP camera that lets OEMs and service providers deliver their own branded solution for video conferencing, home surveillance and other applications. The joint solution is available from Quanta as a white-label IP camera, or as a camera module for integration into OEM products such as TVs. It includes a browser application, mobile application, embedded software and cloud services on top of a full HD 1080p camera. The Quanta WebRTC IP camera includes Celeno's 802.11ac Wi-Fi System on Chip (SoC) along with its OptimizAIR 2.0 technology, and leverages Imagination's MIPS CPU, ClearMediaRTC media engine, FlowTalk application and FlowCloud service. The communications in the WebRTC IP camera are enabled by WebRTC for a rich, web-based Real-Time Communications (RTC) experience. With the new camera, companies can provide a branded plug-and-play solution that enables consumers to quickly, easily and affordably set up, and immediately begin to stream live video over Wi-Fi, while engaging in two-way audio communications. The camera includes features such as remote control, motion detection, infrared capability, alerts and more, with controls accessible via an Android or iOS app on a smartphone or tablet. Celeno's 802.11ac Wi-Fi SoC delivers the increased coverage and high throughput performance required for high quality video and media applications in the home and has been pre-integrated with the camera. The end-to-end white-label Quanta IP camera and camera module solutions, which include the Celeno chipset and leverage Imagination's ClearMediaRTC media engine and FlowCloud technology, are available now from Quanta.
