Celeno Communications, Ltd. unveiled their 802.11ac Wave 2 compatible product family, the Quicksilver product family. As well as providing the most advanced physical layer technology based on Celeno’s Smart Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) architecture and algorithms, and support for 160 MHz channel width, the Quicksilver solution goes beyond other Wave 2 offerings by including Celeno’s industry unique channel aware Wi-Fi virtualization, QoS and QoE management technology, OptimizAIR™ 2.0. Combined with Celeno’s industry-first OptimizAIR™ 2.0, the MU-MIMO capabilities of Wave 2 are significantly enhanced. Quicksilver product family builds on Celeno’s field proven channel-aware scheduling algorithms to enhance multi-user groupings as part of the airtime management engine. By introducing Smart MU-MIMO, Celeno goes beyond the industry standard to deliver a solution that not only provides greater Wi-Fi capacity by streaming simultaneously to multiple clients, but together with OptimizAIR 2.0, smartly distributes available throughput to optimize the user experience, especially with 4K video streaming use cases. Compal Selects Celeno Communications' 802.11ac Wi-Fi and OptimizAIR(TM) 2.0 Technology to Enable its 24x8 DOCSIS(R) 3.0 Gateways

Celeno Communications and Compal Broadband Networks (CBN) announced that Compal's 24x8 DOCSIS 3.0 Wireless Gateways will be powered by Celeno's CL2330 3x3 and CL2340 4x4 802.11ac solutions. Along with Celeno's unique OptimizAIR 2.0 airtime management technology, these solutions will add enhanced bandwidth management, extreme speed and improved coverage to Compal's gateways, enabling them to offer their clients the ability to provide new and differentiated services. Gateways powered by Celeno's Airtime Management technology can support all these applications by dynamically apportioning Wi-Fi capacity between devices and multiple virtual Wi-Fi networks (SSID). This presents service providers with new service business models and monetization opportunities and improves Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE), reducing service calls and operating expenses. The CL2330 and CL2340 are single chip PCIe Wi-Fi solutions, support 80MHz bandwidth for higher throughput and support both implicit and explicit beamforming for extended range.
Celeno Communications Announces the Availability of the New 8802.11ac 4x4 Solution

Celeno Communications unveiled its 802.11ac portfolio of offerings -- the CL2340. The PCIe-integrated chip further enhances the Celeno wireless portfolio providing solutions across the entire range, covering the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, and both 802.11n and 802.11ac - including 2x2, 3x3 chips as well as the new 4x4 dual band 11ac chips. With design-to-cost in mind, Celeno's portfolio supports a diverse range of solution topologies and connectivity, including standalone, full-offload RGMII, PCIe and USB. The new 4x4 chipset will provide increased performance and enhanced home coverage for MSOs and Service Providers using Celeno's chips in their home gateways, access points, and set-top-boxes. The CL2340 is a single chip PCIe Wi-Fi solution, supports 80MHz bandwidth for higher throughput and supports both implicit and explicit beamforming for extended range. The CL2340 is also powered by Celeno's breakthrough Airtime Management technology -- OptimizAIR 2.0. Unique in the field, OptimizAIR 2.0 enables the provisioning and dynamic allocation of Wi-Fi capacity to different virtual networks (SSID), services, and even different client devices all served by the same Wi-Fi Access Point. The result is an optimized home Wi-Fi network that can ensure the quality of service no matter how many Wi-Fi enabled devices are competing for bandwidth. The new chipset also supports Celeno's Upload Manager for OptimizAIR 2.0, which allows for the management and coordination of uploading as well as downloading data streams. This new technology directly addresses the strain on Wi-Fi bandwidth caused by the increase in the use of cloud storage, and represents a major enhancement to access point and gateway capabilities. The CL2340 reference design is now available and a fully integrated solution into the Intel Puma 6 is also available. Celeno will be demonstrating the solution at IBC 2014 in Hall 3, Area B20 during September 13 -17.
