Ricardo to Collaborate with Kailong High Technology Co., Ltd. on Clean Heavy-Duty Diesel After Treatment Technology

Ricardo and Kailong High Technology Co., Ltd. have signed a collaboration agreement on the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) technologies for heavy-duty diesel engine applications. With the impending implementation of the China 6 heavy-duty diesel emissions requirements, Kailong has selected Ricardo as technology and engineering partner to assist it in developing new products for the next generation of much cleaner heavy-duty engines. The collaboration is aimed at enabling Kailong to develop its product range as a complete after treatment systems supplier - including DPF as well as SCR technology - with which the company's customers can achieve both China 6 and Euro VI standards, while also providing a robust platform for future emission standards. In particular, Ricardo will assist Kailong with system design, control strategy and on-board diagnostics (OBD) expertise, working closely with - and defined by the requirements of - their customers.

LiqTech International Inks Deal with Kailong High Technology Co. Ltd to Establish Diesel Particulate Filter Company in China

LiqTech International announced that it agreed with Kailong High Technology Co. Ltd. to establish a diesel particulate filter company in China. The agreement includes a technology transfer fee of $1.5 million, which is payable upon achievement of certain milestones, and a royalty of $2.25 per liter of diesel particulate filters, which could generate $2.25 million in royalty revenue in 2018 and $4.5 million in royalty revenue in 2019 if the joint venture company achieves Kailong's projections. LiqTech will own 30% of the company and invest $4 million in the joint venture company over a 2-year period. Kailong will invest a minimum of $2.5 million in LiqTech, conditional to Chinese government approval. In the event that government approval is not obtained, the letter of intent will terminate. In addition, the letter of intent is conditional on execution of definitive agreements.
