Laima Invests EUR 1.772 Million in Production Upgrade

Laima has invested EUR 1.772 million in technological upgrade of candy production. Under the European Regional Development Fund project, Laima has invested EUR 1.237 million in Denmark-made candy production line and EUR 535,000 in German-made packaging line. Upgrade of technological processes will allow Laima to improve operations, develop new products and increase export. Wiht the new candy production line purchased within the project on development of high added value products, Laima will be able to develop new products, increase production capacity, meeting the growing demands in the local and export markets. At the same time, the packaging robot, purchased within the project on robotization of candy packaging processes, will allow to ensure faster and more efficient packaging of products and improve product quality.

A/S Laima announced earnings results for the full year of 2014. The company closed 2014 with EUR 10.013 million in turnover, down 7.6% from a year before, while its profit shrank 16.7 times to EUR 343,300. In 2013 Laima generated EUR 10.842 million in sales, and earned EUR 5.75 million in profit.
