Northern Power Systems, Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2014. Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014 grew to $14.0 million, a 56% increase over revenue of $9.0 million reported in the prior year period. GAAP net loss for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2014 was $2.4 million, representing a 51% reduction compared to a $4.9 million loss in the prior year fourth quarter. Non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA loss for the fourth quarter was $1.6 million, representing a $1.5 million improvement compared to a non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA loss of $3.1 million in the prior year fourth quarter. The 2014 revenue grew to $56.5 million, a 174% increase over revenue of $20.6 million reported in the prior year period. GAAP net loss for fiscal year 2014 was $7.9 million, representing a 44% reduction compared to a $14.1 million loss in 2013. NonGAAP adjusted EBITDA loss for 2014 was $4.8 million, representing a $6.4 million, or 57% improvement compared to a nonGAAP adjusted EBITDA loss of $11.2 million in the prior year.

Northern Power Systems Launches New 60kW Wind Turbine in Italy

Northern Power Systems, Inc. has launched a new 60kW permanent magnet/direct drive wind turbine, the NPS 60-24, in Italy. The unit has been specifically engineered for the Italian and other low wind regime markets and can generate up to 15% more energy than the outgoing NPS 60-23. The blade and rotor have been redesigned to maximize annual energy production (AEP), the new nacelle is 30% smaller, and an improved tower configuration provides further operating efficiencies. The NPS 60-24 is currently exclusively available in Italy. It has been designed to meet local market requirements and government regulations to optimize revenue generating capabilities for owners. Locally based service teams will help ensure reliability as these new turbines are added to Northern Power Systems' global fleet of 100kW and 60kW turbines.
