GEOCORAIL Signs Agreement with FLUXEL to Install a Testing Facility in the Fos Oil Port (Bouches-Du-Rhône, France) and Reinforce its Operational R&D

GEOCORAIL announced the signature of an agreement with FLUXEL SAS for the installation of an R&D base in the Fos terminal (Bouches-du-Rhône). GEOCORAIL will thus benefit from an ideally located site (close to a TGV station and the Marseille airport), with direct access to sea water. The company will install a 40 sq.m. covered test bench equipped with 45 sea water tanks with independent generators, allowing the testing of multiple operational parameters in parallel. The whole setup will be operational by the end of June 2016. It will supplement the R&D currently carried out at the Châtelaillon-Plage site (Charente-Maritime, France) as well as within the ANR Ecocorail program with three French universities (La Rochelle, Caen and Nouméa).

Geocorail SAS announced the appointments of Mr. Eric BESSON and Mr. Erik ORSENNA to the board of the company, as independent members. Eric BESSON started his career in the private sector, working for Renault Véhicules Industriels before joining the economics periodical ‘Challenges’. He then managed different foundations, including the “Agir contre l’exclusion” foundation. Mayor of Donzère (Drôme) since 1995, he was an elected member of the French Parliament for the 2nd district of Drôme from 1997 to 2007. Between 2007 and 2012, he held various ministerial positions, including Minister of the Industry, Energy and Digital Economy. He currently advises international leaders and managers in the private and public sectors. Eric BESSON is a graduate from ESC Montpellier and the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris. Erik ORSENNA became advisor to the ministry of Cooperation in 1981, focusing on raw materials and multilateral negotiations. In 1991, he became chairman of the Corderie Royale – International Sea Center. In 1998, he was elected to the French Academy where he inherited the seat of Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Honorary Conseiller d’Etat, Erik Orsenna is also board member of Greenflex and Carbios.
