A new “privatization” scheme has been announced by the Kazakh government earlier 2017. Enterprises to be “privatized” or in the State Fund’s words “transferred to a competitive environment” include the JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, Kazgeology, The Khorgos International Centre of Boundary Cooperation JSC, the Astana International Airport JSC and Airport Korkyt-Ata Kyzylorda JSC, Joint Stock Company National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, JSC National Company KazMunayGas, JSC National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, Samruk-Energy Joint Stock Company, National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Kazpost JSC, Air Astana Joint Stock Company, Kazakhtelecom JSC (KAS:KZTK), Qazaq Air JSC, JSC Pavlodar Airport, JSC Aktobe International Airport and JSC International Airport Atyrau, JSC NC Aktau International Sea Trading Port, Astana Solar LLP, LLP Kazakhstan Solar Silicon, Caustic JSC, Housing Construction Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, National Company Food Contract Corporation JSC, and others. Samruk-Kazyna May Be Privatized

Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC will hold an investor presentation day on the London Stock Exchange in February 2017, Chief Executive Officer Umirzak Shukeyev said. "In February we plan to hold a special meeting with investors on the London Stock Exchange as part of Samruk-Kazyna's privatization program," he said at a December 6, 2016 meeting of the Cabinet in Astana. Shukeyev proposed creating a working group within the Ministry of National Economy in order to coordinate the IPO preparations. "We have to know how the existing regulations should be adjusted so that we can prepare these assets for IPO in a most efficient way," he said. In early 2016, the Government of Kazakhstan adopted a privatization program for 2016-2020. The list of state-owned assets to be privatized includes JSC NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary, Joint Stock Company National Geological Exploration Company Kazgeologiya, Astana International Airport JSC and others. Under the program,the Kazakh government will hold IPOs for Joint Stock Company National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, joint Stock Company National Company KazMunayGas, JSC National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, Samruk-Energy Joint Stock Company, National Mining Company Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, LLP Kazzinc Holdings, Kazpost JSC and others.
