S.N. Nuclearelectrica S.A. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months Of 2016. For the period, the company posted a RON 37.8 million loss as compared to RON 2.9 million net profit in the like period of 2015. The company's first-half results were affected by the extension of the duration of the planned outage of Cernavoda NPP Unit, by lower revenues from the sale of energy and the evolution of prices on the competitive market segment and by the negative impact of the currency exchange differences. Revenues from the sale of electricity decreased by 9%. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) turned to a negative RON 26.6 million from a positive RON 15.07 million a year earlier. EBITDA fell by an annual 15% to RON 211.7 million. In the second quarter alone, the company’s net loss more than doubled on the year to RON 104.7 million.

Nuclearelectrica announced unaudited earnings results for the first quarter of 2016. For the quarter, the company's net profit surged 89% on the year to RON 66.8 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose by an annual 22% to RON 195 million. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) jumped 72% to RON 75.9 million.
