Lowrance Launches NAIS 500 CLASS-B AIS
May 17 17
Lowrance announced a fully integrated, Class-B Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponder the Lowrance NAIS 500. Essential for navigating busy waterways and congested ports, the NAIS 500 - which includes a dedicated GPS-500 receiver - is compact in size, lightweight and fully waterproof. It offers low power draw and features multiple connections for networking with any HDS Carbon and HDS Gen3 series multifunction display. Meeting the strict regulations set for Class-B AIS transponders, the NAIS 500 ensures that a vessel is seen on a display reducing the risk of collisions. The transponder sends a signal to other vessels in the area allowing boaters to plan any necessary avoidance maneuvers well in advance. Compatible with NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, NMEA 0183 multiplexing and USB, the NAIS 500 is simple to install in any configuration. Capable of withstanding the harshest conditions, the transponder meets IPX7 standards. Weighing less than 9 ounces (250 grams) and featuring a low average power consumption of 180 mA at 12 VDC, the NAIS 500 is ideal for any size powerboat.

Available in 5- or 7-inch models, both Elite Ti fishfinder/chartplotter models feature a highly accurate, built-in GPS antenna that displays position on a detailed U.S. basemap, with more than 3,000 lakes and rivers and detailed coastal contours to 1,000 feet. Optional Americas chart upgrades include Lake InsightTM or Nautic InsightTM PRO and HD, Navionics HotMaps Premium and Fishing Hotspots PRO. Global chart upgrade options include Navionics+ and Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N. With integrated wireless connectivity, Elite Ti models operate directly through the GoFree shop for downloads of mapping and software updates. Elite Ti also works seamlessly with the Insight Genesis map-creation service, which allows users to make custom, high-resolution contour maps from recorded sonar logs, with bottom-hardness and vegetation overlays, as well as Insight Genesis Social Map community chart sharing. Bluetooth® and wireless connectivity also provide single- or dual-control of Power-Pole® installations, as well as access to the GoFree Controller App, which allows anglers to view and control the fishfinder/chartplotter display from an iPad® or Android® tablet. A user-friendly, LED-backlit, touchscreen displays provides fast, fingertip access to all navigation and fishfinding functions. For example, with the Lowrance fish- and structure-marking TrackBack feature, anglers can review recorded history such as structure, transitions or fish targets, mark a waypoint on the sonar display, and then easily navigate to that location using the chartplotter view.
