Stonys To Sell His Stake In KTE

Stonys is seeking to sell his sell his stake in UAB Kauno termofikacijos elektrine (KTE). Some unofficial sources say that Stonys seeks to sell his stake in KTE as quickly as possible and that efforts are being made to give the Chinese an impression that the project is a profitable one. Evaldas Paulavicius, Chief Executive Officer of KTE, has confirmed to BNS that the sale of a majority stake in KTE is being discussed with the Chinese company, saying that no serious investor would come to Kaunas unless it had control of the entire project. When asked if the aim might be to sell the unprofitable project to the Chinese, the CEO said that no business would invest 300 million euros without a thorough analysis of the market. "The Chinese are very well informed and they are very good at business. No business person would invest 300 million euros without carefully weighing the investment," he said.

Beijing Energy May Acquire KTE CHP Plant

Beijing Energy Investment Holdings Limited would begin negotiations on acquiring a controlling stake in UAB Kauno termofikacijos elektrine. Rimandas Stonys, co-owner of UAB Kauno said that the company was interested in acquiring at least 21% in UAB Kauno.
