Vedant Fashions Mulls Acquisitions

Vedant Fashions Private Limited is planning the acquisition of Soch and an another brand, which will make it the undisputed market leader in the category. “In the next 12 months, we will lead the branded ethnic women’s wear category as well, and are on the lookout to acquire two brands,” Ravi Modi, managing director of Vedant Fashions, said.

Vedant Fashions Reportedly May Sell 15% Stake To L Catterton, Kedaara Capital

Kedaara Capital Investment Managers Limited and L Catterton are reportedly in separate discussions to buy a minority stake in Vedant Fashions Private Limited (Manyavar), according to two people aware of the development. The PE firms plan to acquire about 15% stake in Vedant Fashions for INR 4.5 billion to INR 5 billion, said one of the two people on condition of anonymity. Vedant Fashions is valued at INR 30 billion, said the second person on condition of anonymity. The proposed fund will be used for expansion including acquisitions. Mails, text messages and calls made to Ravi Modi, Founder of Vedant Fashions were not answered. Sanjay Gujral, Regional Managing Director at L Catterton Asia, and a Kedaara Capital spokesperson declined to comment.

Vedant Fashions Reportedly To Discuss Acquisition Of Soch Apparels

Vedant Fashions Private Limited has joined the fray to discuss a possible acquisition of Soch Apparels Pvt. Ltd. in a deal valued at slightly over INR 10 billion. Vedant Fashions is tapping private equity investors to pull off the biggest consolidation move in the domestic fashion industry, people with direct knowledge of the matter said. MD Retail LLP, the parent of Soch, has been in parallel talks with private equity investors and Vedant Fashions for a share sale, though some investors will be keen on investing in a merged entity, sources said. The deal talks are still midway and the final outcome cannot be predicted. When contacted, a senior official at Vedant Fashions declined to comment on the matter. Vinay Chatlani, Chief Executive Officer of Soch said he would not comment on speculation. o3 Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd. has been advising Soch on the share sale process.
