Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Sdn Bhd Pulls Out Joint Venture with Chengdu Jinxin Healthcare Investment

Ramsay Health Care announced that it has pulled out of a planned hospital joint venture in western China as a number of conditions were not satisfied. The company, along with Sime Darby Berhad, had signed a deal in May 2015 to invest USD 135 million (AUD 188.05 million) for a joint venture with Chengdu Jinxin Healthcare Investment. Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Sdn Bhd has decided not to proceed with the proposed joint venture in Chengdu, China, due to a number of threshold conditions precedent not being satisfied.

IHH And Sime Darby Reportedly Close To Acquiring Mahkota Medical Centre

Potential buyers are close to buying Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd. IHH Healthcare Berhad (KLSE:IHH) and Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Sdn Bhd have been named as front runners to acquire Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd from Health Management International Ltd (SGX:588). Credit Suisse is managing the US$250 million deal. According to the news report, a potential sale has been since expected mid April 2015. Share price of Health Management International jumped 20% on July 4, 2015 and closed at SGD 0.39.
