SPP and ZSE to Distribute Extraordinary Dividends to Government

Slovak semi-state energy companies are going to distribute extraordinary dividends worth EUR 361.5 million in order to help the government slow down the growth of the state debt. The state expects high revenues mainly from SPP and ZSE. Both companies, in which the state holds 51%, have had to borrow money on international markets in order to be able to pay out the dividend. The Finance Ministry expects the extraordinary dividends to help get the Slovak debt below 57% of GDP next year. Minority shareholders of Slovak semi-state companies should be entitled to the extraordinary dividend as well.
