Toshiba Asia Pacific Establishes Branch Office in Bangladesh

Toshiba Corporation announced that its Singapore-based wholly owned subsidiary, Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., has established a branch office in Dhaka, in the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The new office will allow Toshiba to establish a stronger presence in Bangladesh and to support the country's continued economic development. The Bangladesh Liaison Office will open in June 1. Bangladesh's annual economic growth rate has surpassed 5% for the past ten years, and the country ranks eighth in the world in population, with approximately 1.5 billion people. The economy is expected to continue to grow and to present many business opportunities, particularly in the infrastructure required to support economic expansion, including power generation, transmission & distribution and urban transportation. Through the new office, Toshiba will collect market information that will support it in contributing further to Bangladesh's infrastructure improvement. Singapore Post Selects Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte., Ltd., to Supply an Integrated Postal Automation System Comprising 16 Various Machines

Singapore Post commissioned Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte., Ltd., to supply an integrated postal automation system comprising 16 various machines that can rapidly sort letters, mail packages and flats (e.g. publications). The new system replaces 26 older machines, and will further boost efficiency of Singapore Posts mail processing centre. All the 16 equipment use Toshibas advanced optical character recognition (OCR) system to identify and read mail addresses and barcodes. Toshiba is a widely recognized industry leader in automated postal systems. The new energy-efficient system allows processing of 42,000 letters per hour, with a high OCR accuracy rate. The equipment defines the industry standard for this kind of system.

Toshiba Asia Pacific Pte., Ltd. announced that it will start selling new storage system 'Toshiba Total Storage Platform (TTSP)' to the South East Asia market. TTSP is a series of four storage products that brings together Toshiba Group's wide experience in storage technologies, to meet the diverse needs of big data, cloud society, and enterprise necessities. The TTSP will be showcased at the Cloud Expo 2013, which is held at November 13th and 14th at Suntec Exhibition Centre, Singapore. The strength of the group comes from Device technologies portfolio which includes NAND flash memory, which Toshiba invented, to SSD and HDD which adds choices of flexibility in devices itself of speed, durability, and capacity. Toshiba's strength brought together not only underlies in devices, but also has capabilities of storage system technologies such as drive control, RAID, storage OS, and up to solution technologies such as virtualization and backup which is essential. Toshiba's new product line-up is as following; FL 6000: Flash array storage meets the needs for fast data reading, with saving space and energy. SC 3000: Highly reliable with the optimal balance of performance and capacity. NL 3000: Near-line storage optimized for large capacity. TC 3000: Tiered storage controller to boost fast performance and high capacity at the same time. To enhance its sales South East Asia market, Toshiba initially plans to set up its sales scheme for TTSP with sales partner in Singapore, where market is expected.
