Companhia Paranaense de Energia – COPEL announced that Copel Distribuição S.A. has a new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Maximiliano Andres Orfali, who will replace Mr. Antonio Sergio de Souza Guetter, who became Chief Executive Officer of Copel. Mr. Max, as he is known in the company, has built his career at Copel. Mr. Max has been with the company for 22 years, having held various management positions at Copel Distribuição, including Department Manager in several areas (Operation, Maintenance, Metering, Billing, Services and Sales) and Superintendent of Finance and Regulations, Maintenance and Operation Engineering, Sales and Systems Implementation. He recently held the position of Business Management Superintendent at the Subsidiary.

Copel Distribuição S.A. announced earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2015. For the quarter, net operating revenue totaled BRL 2,363.5 million, 21.7% lower than the BRL 3,019.6 million recorded in the same period of the previous year, mainly due to the lower result of the sectorial financial assets and liabilities, which was a loss of BRL 121.2 million compared with a gain of BRL 1,033.9 million in fourth quarter of 2014. It is worth noting that the loss in fourth quarter of 2015 resulted from the period amortization of BRL 401.8 million, chiefly due to the recovery via tariffs of the deferrals in 2013 and 2014, which had been registered when the recognition of the result of sectorial financial assets or liabilities became mandatory. The revenue decrease was also impacted by the period downturn in the energy market (down 4.2% and 5.3% in the captive market and grid market, respectively). Profit before financial results and taxes was BRL 3,961,000 against BRL 13,475,000 a year ago. Net income was BRL 107.9 million against BRL 615.4 million a year ago. EBITDA was BRL 149.0 million against BRL 985.8 million a year ago. Operating income was BRL 140.1 million against BRL 935.3 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was BRL 149.028 million against BRL 105.431 million a year ago.
