Xitron Ships more than 4,500 Units of its Screen Interface Kits
Apr 20 17
Xitron has announced that it has shipped more than 4,500 units of its Screen interface kits. The interface allows PT-R owners to use any RIP or workflow they choose when driving their computer-to-plate system. There are more than 20,000 Screen CtP engines installed worldwide. A favorite of Xitron dealers, they are often sold with new PT-R installations, but the engine is just as popular on the second-hand market. This is where a Xitron interface is essential because it allows such an easy integration. The Screen interface kit is capable of driving all of the PIF-based platesetters, including the 4000, 6000, and 8000 series engines as well as the large format Ultima 16000, 24000, 32000, 36000, and 40000 systems. All like engines branded for companies like Fujifilm and Agfa are also supported. Coupled with Xitron's Navigator RIP, the interface becomes an economical option for anyone considering the purchase of a used or remanufactured PT-R.
Xitron Plans to Release Version 11 of its Navigator RIP Software
Mar 4 16
Xitron announced plans to release version 11 of its Navigator RIP software ahead of its debut at Drupa in May. Over 30,000 copies of Navigator have been put into production by Xitron dealers and OEM's since its inception. Navigator 11 provides improvements in speed, memory usage, and screening for flexographic printing as well as functional enhancements such as better handling of poorly formed PDF files, specific use of PDF/VT hints, and export of die-line separations when used in package printing environments. For high-speed inkjet applications, Navigator 11 introduces features to improve speed on image-heavy jobs, increasing productivity so that pages are fed more quickly to the press. Exhibiting at Drupa May 31-June 10 in stand 15C54-4, Xitron will be demonstrating Navigator 11 as the core Digital Front End (DFE) in several different implementations, encompassing each of their market segments. From March 2, 2016 onward, any customer purchasing a version 10 Navigator RIP will be entitled to receive Navigator 11 at no charge when shipments begin.
