908 Devices announced significant product enhancements for ZipChip™, an innovative system that provides high-quality separation capabilities as a front-end for mass spectrometry. An integrated auto sampler, built-in chip recognition intelligence and application specific assay kits are being released to radically improve process efficiencies for automated sample analysis within the biopharma industry. To keep pace with a growing user base, and further fuel growth and expansion. ZipChipuses integrated microfluidic technology to prepare, separate and electrospray biological samples directly into traditional MS instruments. The release of the ZipChip Autosampler, designed specifically for biopharma samples, transforms time-consuming sample runs into fast, high-quality analysis. Using intelligence enabled workflow solutions users simply insert the appropriate chip based on the application – ZipChip HS for small molecule and peptide mapping, or ZipChip HR for intact large molecules. Samples are loaded automatically from vials or 96-well plates, with users achieving complete separations in three minutes, vastly increasing productivity. The chips are the heart of the ZipChip platform. Both ZipChip HR and ZipChip HS have been enhanced with an onboard intelligence system that identifies the loaded chip type prior to analysis. This enables the automatic configuration of sample methods unique to each chip and tracks operational parameters. The enhanced platform alerts users when it is time to load a new chip. Further fueling efficiency, three application specific assay kits are also being introduced. The ZipChip Antibody Kit, Peptide Kit, and Metabolite Kit are assay kits purpose built for critical biopharma sample types.

908 Devices announced several software and hardware improvements for its high-pressure mass spec™ (HPMS) product, M908™. Since its introduction in 2014, M908 has expanded the capabilities of CBRNE and HAZMAT organizations around the world with fast and accurate identification of priority chemical threats, including chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and precursors. Performance enhancements to the device heightened sensitivity and increased the Target List to more than 100 available targets with continued emphasis on current priority chemical threats. Close customer collaboration resulted in enhancements to the user interface and new workflows that guide users throughout operation. This includes the introduction of a Walkthrough mode, which serves as a guided graphical interface and measurement sequence for stepping users through trace to bulk material analysis. New sampling accessories simplify measurements across a range of field scenarios. A new vapor probe improves response time and sensitivity for priority, low-volatility materials, and new disposable Captive Sampling accessories simplify measurements of materials in difficult-to-control environments. Most recently, 908 Devices has added the support of two key first response organizations, the U.S. Department of Defense and the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY), which have placed orders to deploy its device. To further enhance its arsenal of threat detection resources, the Department of Defense has invested in an additional 50 M908 devices, which will also be deployed worldwide for use in a broad range of operations relating to chemical warfare detection and identification.
