Honda Marine announced a new, exclusive OEM agreement with Coach Pontoons. A subsidiary of Coach Marine Group, LLC, Coach Pontoons is a new manufacturer of pontoon boats, offering a full range of models for dealers and distributors throughout North America. According to the terms of the agreement, Honda Marine will supply Coach Pontoons with selected outboard engine models from its Mid-Range BF Series (BF40, BF50, BF60, BF75, and BF90) and High Power BF Series (BF115, BF135, BF150, BF200, BF225, and BF250) as original equipment for all pontoon models manufactured by the company.

National Highway Transportation Safety Administration Probes American Honda Motor over Air Bags

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration has opened an investigation into American Honda Motor Co., asking whether the company failed to report known problems with air bags made by Takata Corp. in a timely manner. Defective Takata air bags, many of them installed in Honda vehicles, have been the subject of NHTSA safety alerts concerning almost 8 million vehicles, after reports of incidents in which the automobile restraint systems exploded and hurled metal shrapnel into the heads and bodies of drivers and passengers. At least two deaths and many injuries have been associated with the Takata air bags, which were installed in vehicles made by Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Chrysler, Ford and BMW in various model years ranging from 2000 to 2008.
