YPDI Inks Contract for LNG Power Plant in Cambodia

YPDI and Malaysia ITG petroleum Pty Ltd. has entered into a project design contract for an LNG power plant in Cambodia. Signing of the agreement was done in Shenzen and it includes the associated transportation and storage facility of LNG. The location of the project is Bavet Dragon King Economic Development Zone in Cambodia, also home to the Cambodia Phnom Penh capital iron and steel plant. Implementation of the entire project will be in two phases, wherein the first phase of the project includes building a new 5MW temporary power supply facilities in the Cambodia Bavet Dragon King Economic Development Zone, 50MW power supply facilities and its supporting LNG receiving station, along with a new 50MW power supply facilities and its supporting LNG receiving station at the location of the Cambodia Phnom Penh capital iron and steel plant. The project's second phase is to build a new 250MW power plant and the supporting LNG receiving station at the Cambodia Bavet Dragon King Economic Development Zone. RMB 4.1 billion is the total investment of the power plants in the two phases and the supporting LNG receiving station. Out of the total investment, the investment of the 5MW temporary power supply facilities, two 50MW power supply facilities and the supporting LNG receiving station of the first phase of the project is around RMB 900 million ($141 million approx). The design contract comprises of the project feasibility study report, basic design and detailed design, and the feasibility study report will be covering the two phases of the project, while the basic design and detailed design covers the first phase.
