The Cordish Companies Breaks Ground On New $200 Million Live! Hotel at Maryland Live! Casino

The Cordish Companies broke ground on the new $200 million LIVE! HOTEL at Maryland Live! Casino, in Hanover, MD. The 350,000- square- foot property features a 17-story hotel tower, making it the tallest building in Anne Arundel County, with 310 guest rooms, an event center, meeting spaces, new dining options, and a day spa/salon. It is the first hotel in the country to carry the Live! brand. With completion expected in the first quarter of 2018, Live! Hotel will feature guestrooms designed with a mix of modern style and chic, urban flare, along with public spaces showcasing floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings accented with striking chandeliers, and wood and polished marble throughout. The Grand Event Center will house a 1,500-seat concert venue with built-in performance stage and banquet seating capability for up to 800 guests. New dining options range from a 24-hour Café with community seating to a Gelato Bar offering expertly crafted espresso, coffee drinks, pastries and a variety of Italian specialty gelato. Guests can also relax at the Luxury Day Spa & Salon, featuring high end products, a full menu of spa services, and a Fitness Center.

The Texas Rangers Selects the Cordish Companies as Development Partner for Texas Live!

The Cordish Companies have been selected by The Texas Rangers as development partner for Texas Live!, a 100,000 square foot dining and entertainment district, as well as a 300-room hotel and 35,000 square foot convention facility in-between the Texas Rangers' Globe Life Park in Arlington and the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium. Arlington City Council unanimously approved the economic development project in an 9-0 vote. The $200 million project is a public-private partnership between the City of Arlington and the Texas Rangers/The Cordish Companies partnership, with the City investing $50 million and $150 million of private sector investment. The Texas Live! entertainment district will create approximately 1,800 total jobs including 1,000 construction jobs and 800 permanent jobs. Texas Live! will generate approximately $100 million per year of economic output to the City of Arlington and Tarrant County and will generate approximately $2 billion in direct and indirect salaries during its first forty years. The agreement also includes plans to develop an upscale, full-service convention hotel with a minimum of 300 rooms and 35,000 square feet of meeting and convention facility. Construction of the $200 million hotel and entertainment district will be designed and sequenced to allow the 100,000 square feet Texas Live! to start construction in 2016. The sequencing of the hotel will be determined.

Rivers to Close Ballarat Warehouse North-West of Melbourne

Rivers has announced it will close its Ballarat warehouse north-west of Melbourne, leaving 130 people out of work. The closure will result in the loss of 90 full-time and 40 casual jobs in the city.
