Hungarian Electricity Works Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Year 2016

Hungarian Electricity Works reported consolidated earnings results for the year 2016. For the year, the company reported after-tax profit of HUF 48.4 billion. Revenue was HUF 1,034 billion. EBITDA was HUF 110.8 billion.

RWE Hungária and EnBW Energie Reportedly Considering All Strategic Options, Including Sale For Their Stakes In Matrai Eromu

RWE Hungária Kft. and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, holding a 50.9% and a 21.7% stake in Matrai Eromu ZRt., respectively are reportedly looking at all strategic options their stakes in Matrai Eromu ZRt. "We are looking at all strategic options. That includes a sale," an RWE spokeswoman said on April 5, 2017. EnBW said it was looking at all options for its non-core assets, but would not comment on individual holdings. Hungarian newspapers Magyar Idok and Vilaggazdasag cited unnamed sources as saying bidders could submit offers for Matrai Eromu in two months. According to press reports, five companies are interested in a possible takeover of Matrai Eromu stakes. Potential firms interested in the takeover of Matrai are believed to be Energeticky a Prumyslovy Holding, a.s., CEZ, a. s. and Magyar Villamos Muvek Zrt. A spokesman for CEZ said the company was not interested. MVM declined to comment. Matrai Eromu and Energeticky a Prumyslovy were not immediately available for comment.
