Celikler Makes Highest Bid In Govt Power Plants' Sale Tender

Celikler Taahhut Insaat ve Sanayi AS has made the highest bid of $521 million in the tender for the sale of two state-owned thermal power plants in northwestern Turkey, the country’s Privatization Administration said. The tender for the block sale of the 210 megawatt (MW) Orhaneli plant, located in the province of Bursa, and the 365 MW Tuncbilek plant in the Kutahya province, was held, the privatization authority said in a statement.

Tender For Sale Of Orhaneli And Tunçbilek To Be Held In December; Preliminary Bids Received

Orhaneli Lignite Generation Plant and Kütahya Tunçbilek Belediyesi may be sold. The Turkish Privatization Administration (OIB) announced on December 16, 2014 that it would hold final negotiations on December 17, 2014, in order to sell stakes in Orhaneli and Tuncbilek. On December 10, 2014, OIB announced that it received four preliminary bids from Bereket Enerji Uretim AS, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret A.S., Konya Seker Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., and Celikler Taahhut Insaat ve Sanayi AS for the plants. The OIB extended bidding deadlines from November 24, 2014 to December 8, 2014 for the block sale of Orhaneli and Tuncbilek.

Four Bidders Submit Bids For Orhaneli And Tunçbilek

The Turkish privatization administration (OIB) announced on December 10, 2014, that it received four preliminary bids from Bereket Enerji Uretim AS, Alsim Alarko Sanayi Tesisleri ve Ticaret A.S., Konya Seker Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. and Celikler Taahhut Insaat ve Sanayi AS for Orhaneli Lignite Generation Plant and Kütahya Tunçbilek Belediyesi. The OIB has extended bidding deadlines from November 24, 2014, to December 8, 2014, for the block of sale Orhaneli and Tunçbilek power plants along with the operating rights of the related mine fields.
