Haivision Announces Strategic Partnership with DISH to Deliver Secure Digital Television Content to Desktops and Displays within Enterprises

Haivision announced a strategic partnership with DISH to deliver secure digital television content to desktops and displays within enterprises. The unique solution between the DISH SMARTBOX® platform and Haivision’s IPTV system incorporates a security framework assuring content protection to each desktop and set-top box. Additionally, grouped and individual content viewership restrictions can be established by system administrators for every channel, user and display. The DISH SMARTBOX® reduces cost and saves space by serving up to 96 HD channels within a compact, energy efficient 5RU headend system. This combined solution protects content providers, simplifies enterprise IPTV deployments, and is substantially more economical than traditional IPTV architectures for enterprises.

Haivision and Sencore Partner to Deliver High Quality HEVC/H.265 Live Video for Low Bandwidth Broadcast Backhaul and Distribution Applications

Haivision announced a strategic collaboration with Sencore to deliver the higher quality live video over the most constrained networks using HEVC/H.265 video compression. Sencore is an engineering leader in the development of reliable, cost-effective video distribution and content monitoring solutions for the broadcast, cable, satellite, and IPTV markets. The combined solution of the Haivision Makito X HEVC encoder and the Sencore MRD (Modular Receiver Decoder) 4400 HEVC decoder enables broadcasters to establish video links for backhaul, monitoring, contribution, and distribution where network bandwidth availability or cost is at a premium. HEVC saves as much as 50% of the required bandwidth compared to H.264. Haivision also includes SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) technology at no additional cost within the Makito X encoders to support high performance streams over lossy networks like the public internet. Typical internet backhaul topology relies on sending HEVC over SRT to a Haivision Media Gateway, where the stream is instantly converted to standard MPEG-TS over UDP for in-facility distribution to the receiving Sencore decoders.

Haivision to Deliver High Performance Video Streaming Solutions to the Chinese and APAC Market Through Alibaba Cloud's Platform

Haivision announced that the company has partnered with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group, to deliver video streaming and media management solutions to customers. Since debuting in August on Alibaba Cloud's Global Marketplace and the AliLaunch program for technology partners, Haivision has been working closely with Alibaba Cloud to bring Haivision's solutions onto the Alibaba Cloud platform and give customers the ability to make their video streaming workflows more efficient, flexible and scalable. The first of many Haivision solutions to be launched on the Alibaba Cloud, the Haivision Media Gateway helps broadcasters and enterprises easily and securely transport the highest quality video over the internet and corporate networks for live backhaul and distribution.
