The Body Shop Announces Job Cuts and Closing Headquarters in Wake Forest

The Body Shop announced that it prepares to close its headquarters in Wake Forest, job cuts start May 1. That's according to the mandatory filing the L'Oreal-owned cosmetics company sent the North Carolina Department of Commerce, formally announcing it is moving its headquarters to New York. Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones was copied on the letter. L'Oreal-owned The Body Shop to move from Wake Forest to New York. Remaining "separations" will be transitioned before the end of the year, with a total of 145 jobs being cut as part of the move. The notice is stamped as being received, a day after The Body Shop told its Wake Forest employees that their jobs were being terminated. The company's customer service center will close in early July, with 'a limited number of positions' moving from Wake Forest to New York and New Jersey. The move is part of The Body Shop's 'overall growth strategy,' an effort to operate closer to the New York fashion industry.
