Lithonia Lighting, Inc. Announces Voluntarily Recalling of Solid Green Circuit Boards Used in Quantum® ELM and ELM2 Incandescent Fixtures Sold Between March 2010 and March 2014

Williams Scotsman has been made aware of a recall issued by Lithonia Lighting voluntarily recalling solid green circuit boards used in Quantum® ELM and ELM2 incandescent fixtures sold between March 2010 and March 2014. The fixture’s circuit board can overheat, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.

Lithonia Lighting Launches LED Shoplights

Lithonia Lighting introduced two durable, high performance LED shoplights ideal for use in both home or commercial garages, workshops, utility rooms and more. Whether servicing a shiny new car, or completing an intricate woodworking project – the sleek yet durable LED shoplights deliver maximum light output (4000K) for crisp, clean task illumination for any workshop needs. The LED shoplights illuminate spaces instantly with the flip of a switch, and are designed to remain on for extended periods of time with an average lifespan of 50,000 hours. Additionally, the energy-efficient LED technology offers 35% energy savings compared to a standard T12 fluorescent lamp fixture.

Lithonia Lighting Recalls Quantum ELM and ELM2 Lights Due to Fire Hazard

Lithonia Lighting recalled emergency lights due to fire hazard. Consumers should stop using this product unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product. Name of product: Quantum ELM and ELM2 two-light emergency fixture. Hazard: The circuit board can overheat and cause the fixture to melt, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Remedy: Consumers should contact Lithonia Lighting to receive detailed instructions on how to locate the circuit board and series name and to order a free repair kit, which includes a new circuit board. Description: This recall involves the Quantum series ELM and ELM2 emergency light fixtures. They are about 12.5-inches wide, 5-inches high and 3.75-inches deep in white or black plastic and have two incandescent lights and a rechargeable lead acid battery. ELM or ELM2 appears on the label inside the fixture's plastic housing above the battery. The recalled units have circuit boards that are green on both sides and either Rev B or Rev C printed in the top left corner. Emergency lights with circuit boards that are beige on one side and ELM2 LED, ELM2 SD and ELM2 WRS fixtures are not included in the recall. Lithonia Lighting has received 29 reports of circuit boards overheating and fixtures melting or catching fire, with one incident resulting in more than $100,000 of property damage to an office building. No injuries have been reported.
