Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX:S68) is in exclusive talks with The Baltic Exchange Limited about buying the shipping industry hub, sources said. One source stated that the potential deal value might be about $100 million. The London Metal Exchange Limited, CME Group Inc. (NasdaqGS:CME), Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (NYSE:ICE), China Merchants Group Co., Ltd and Platts (U.K.) Limited were reportedly among other potential bidders.

The Boards of the London Metal Exchange (LME) and LME Clear announced the appointment of Antony Stuart as an independent nonexecutive director. Mr. Stuart is a chartered accountant with 30 years' experience as an investment banker and corporate adviser. Before his retirement in 2011, he was Managing Director at NM Rothschild. Mr. Stuart replaces Nat le Roux, who has resigned as an independent director of both Boards, after some seven and a half years as an LME Board member.
