Syniverse Holdings, Inc. Announces Earnings Results for the Second Quarter Ended June 30, 2016
Aug 11 16
Syniverse Holdings, Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016. The company's revenues for the quarter were $197.7 million, down $18.5 million or 8.5% against the prior year quarter and up sequentially from the first quarter by $3.3 million or 1.7%. The year-over-year decrease in revenue was primarily attributable to the continued headwinds in its MTS business, partially offset by organic growth in portions of both the MTS and EIS portfolios, all of which I'll cover in more detail later in my remarks. Adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter was $72.1 million, down just $1.7 million or 2.3% against the prior year quarter and up sequentially from the first quarter by $16.2 million or 29%. The year-over-year decline was primarily attributable to the overall shift in revenue mix, mostly offset by lower cost of operations and SG&A as a result of the realization of its continued cost reduction initiatives achieved during the first half of 2016. Capital expenditures were $31.1 million for the first half of 2016 compared to $32.6 million in the prior year period. The decrease was primarily attributable to lower capital spending on integration activities and lower spending on incremental network capacity.
