Long Island Power Authority Announces Executive Changes

At a meeting last week of Long Island Power Authority's board of trustees in Uniondale, authority board members approved the appointment of Joseph A. Branca, a managing director at Bank of America's Merrill Lynch unit, who previously served as chief financial officer of the state Empire State Development Corp. as Chief Financial Officer. Branca, who will earn $250,000 when he joins the authority in three months, replaces Tom Falcone, who in March was promoted to become the Long Island Power Authority's chief executive officer.

Long Island Power Authority Announces Management Changes

The Long Island Power Authority board of trustees approved the appointment of CFO Thomas Falcone as the authority's CEO. Falcone, who earned the recommendation of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for the CEO post, will continue serving as CFO until a successor is chosen. He was named CFO in January 2014 and has been performing day-to-day functions of the CEO role since last August. Falcone's assumption of the CEO position was effective immediately. During the March 21, 2016 board meeting, the trustees also approved to changes to PSEG Long Island LLC's performance metrics, which include worker safety and meter reading.
